Idea- Can it be Done- Updated Scores from Games
I know this is probably asking for too much but would like to know if it can be done. I always miss the score updates from other games being played while you are playing your game. This feature never makes it into today's games.
While you are playing/ coaching your game, if you can get occasional score updates from other games playing. I think this would add a huge immersion factor to the simulation. |

Hello, I don't have OOTPB so I would not know. So your saying that while your Coaching/ Managing your game you will have periodic updates of scores from around the league?

LMK if you have any questions about OOTPB, GWolf. Happy to help.
Your idea is a good one. I don't know if it's going to be added, but I can see why it would be a must-have for an NFL game, since a big part of watching football is seeing what's happening as the day unfolds. It's much more intensive than it is in baseball. |

Unfortunately not for V1, who knows for future versions.
Technically it is possible though. |

That is unfortunate.

Since the NFL wants everybody and their brother too qualify for the playoffs,out-of-town scores will have less meaning, especially late in the season.

Thank for reply, hopefully you can add it in or future versions. This is a real immersion factor as you are playing your game and can watch another game being played out which can decide the playoff race, etc.

Absolutely agree with the OP...it's one of the features that really took FM to the next level...being able to check the live scores on the final day of a tight league title race is awesome.
To have this included (possibly some kind of Red Zone-esque feature for Sundays) would be absolutely huge for realism. |

The two ways I can see of doing this are:
- Set up a thread for each individual game but have them all wait for each other at predetermined periods (the "ten minute ticker" would be a good model, although it's generally 10 minutes of actual game time rather than 10 football minutes). - Run all the games for the week (at least up to and through game-time) beforehand and keep track of what game time big plays occur, then "break into the action" to notify the players of these highlights. Neither of these are anywhere near close to being trivial - threading in particular is about as non-trivial a thing that you can do in that it's hard to impossible to debug and depending on the methods used to thread, you can run into some really weird issues that only occur when you're using threading - and I can definitely see why the devs want to hold off on something like this for a later version. It is a cool idea, though.
