RB's will they have an effect on the Defense

Will the size of a running back have an effect on the defense. Like Okoye did back in the day, and Lynch does now. Will big bruising RBs cause a defense to wear down, miss tackles or arm tackle.

This would be evident late in games, where instead of running for 3 or 4 yards, late game runs turn into 7 or 8 yards, etc. I'm not saying EVERY run would, but the chance of larger gains would go up.

What if the running back is tired or his offensive line?

I think just having fatigue attribute should be good enough.

Well, a 250lb back should fatigue tacklers more than a 200lb back. That seems pretty reasonable.

The funny thing is, I used to play LB. It wasn't the heavy running backs that got me more tired. It was the lighter ones that always ran outside routes, and hit the hole with shifty moves forcing us to change direction quick that got me and mates tired. 1 heavy back tires 1 defensive back. 1 fast shifty back tires the entire front 7.

Yeah, that's the big reason why Oregon is so good offensively in college -- high tempo + they recruit a lot of sprinters/speed guys. Tires defenses out. Until, of course, they're just out-physicaled and it no longer works.

Marshawn's not a small guy but he's not exactly Jerome Bettis either. He breaks a lot of tackles because of his stride, his shiftiness, and his motor (it's crazy how many times you think a play is done only to see Lynch suddenly break out of a pile for a nice gain), not because of sheer size.

Agreed. a big misconception is that Lynch is just some big bruising back that runs straight through people. He runs side to side a lot.

btw, your avatar is hilarious!
