Old Ticket Stub 1940

Just a general comment. Our warehouse manager bought a box of some oddities at an auction that included a ticket stub from a game at Wrigley Field. It showed the Box Seat price at $1.65 with Rain Check availability for any championship game.

A little research determined the game was from 1940 at Wrigley against the Phillies, presumably back in the Dizzy Dean days. Considering today's prices are $80-$110 (at least, I'm told), thought that was a pretty cool find amid the trinkets.

Was it a rain out? Maybe you can get a nice ticket for it!

You know, I wondered that myself. Seems you can order the boxscore for the game for $10.00 from the Almanac. Told the buyer about that in case he were interested. Maybe I'll surprise him and order it later in the year so he has some additional history to go with it.

Can't you get the boxscore for free on retrosheet?
