Text Games for Sale
I have the following text games I'm looking to sell for reasonable prices. Paypal is a must for both of our protection.
Front Office Football 2007 - Just can't get past the interface. I sold the last copy of FOF as well to another guy via a post on this board. He can verify that I'm a trustworthy trader. OOTP 2006 OOTP 6 & 6.5 OOTP 5 Season Ticket Baseball 2003 w/ box & everything Season Ticket Baseball w/ box & everything The two STB's will require shipping and handling be tacked on. Probably 2 bucks or so. Make me an offer. E-mail is avwjase@yahoo.com |

Not sure if this is a good place to sell previous versions of ootp unless its 2007 or ootp8. I cant see someone going back or to 2006 and 5 is free. Not anything wrong with trying to sell them. I just think most members here are probably more interested in 2007, ootp8 or are waiting for the newest version. Though you might find someone interested in ootp 6.5. But anyways good luck.

Actually it may be illegal. Software licenses are rights to use the game. You do not own the game itself. You have no right to transfer the license. See below for v8, however I'm sure similar restrictions apply to earlier versions.

Yeah its not something ive ever tried or even bothered thinking about. I guess its just like those copywrite messages you see or hear from a movie dvd or a sports program. But if its illegal to sell movies and games how are pawn shops able to redistribute them without being guilty of breaking the law. Or are they not doing the same thing? Just curious.

Heh, I love how some people are broken records. Look, I don't see the OOTP guys raising a fuss about this and it'd be silly to do so. I have upgraded to their newest products and I do every single year. I buy everything OOTPDev makes. Anyone willing to buy their "old games" obviously isn't in the market for the new stuff, hmm? If I were selling copies of OOTP 8/07 -- which, I own three copies of (two 8's and 1 07) -- then I'd see the issue. It's taking away from their current sales but I'm not doing that.
Anyway, this whole thread is moot now. My wife is a teacher and I've been spring cleaning lately. I found the STB and STB '03 boxes and discs and decided to put them up here in case anyone was a "collector" of OOTP, which hey, some people collect snail shells and crazy stuff. It's possible. Or if someone new to OOTP 8 just wanted to get one of the old games and see what it was like. Hell, I was willing to sell it for shipping more or less. Just to get rid of it. Then I decided to go ahead and throw my other licenses up too since they do me no good now. However, I got sidetracked there. My wife is an English teacher and she has some boys in her class that are into sports and baseball but she can't get them to do their homework and stuff. So, I donated all of my old OOTP copies (even the licenses) to her and she is enticing them to do their work by offering those games as "prizes" -- I failed to mention the part where most of these games are free now. Hopefully they don't know that yet and will work to get the games. Eitherway, at least they're going to good use now. And, uh, hopefully OOTPDev doesn't have an issue with that. /roll eyes |

Nobody is making a fuss. We merely pointed out that people might get ootp5 since its free or wait for the new version. Rich just pointed out that it might be illegal. Thats not our call thats for ootp to decide. It doesnt matter to me. All i was saying was that your probably wasting your time trying to sell the game here.
