Duplicating historical players
It seems that if you import a historical league, delete the league, and then reimport it, most players get duplicated. If you delete it and import it again, those players show up three times. If you delete it and import again, they show up four times. And so on.
But it's not every player. This is the supplied database, 1871 season, imported into an existing game which was converted from v8.

Did you delete the league and re-import after you had clicked 'Start Game'?
If you do it during the initial game setup this behaviour doesn't occur, but once the game is started, deleting a league dumps everyone into free agency.
