Crash when updating imported players' pictures

Hi,

On the Mac version, OS X 10.5.2, MacBook 1.83 Core 2 Duo

On an imported league started in OOTP8, the game crashes when it tries to put a new cap/uniform on the picture of a player that had his face generated in OOTP8 -- so, if he gets traded, or demoted, or becomes a free agent, the game crashes when "generating player picture".

Creating new pictures works fine, both in the imported league and in newly created leagues.

Thanks in advance.

Ohfer,

I'm running out, so I don't have time to test this, so I suggest this with the caveat that you should absolutely make a copy of your league and test this fix with the copy!

Try deleting the faces.dat file from your saved game (with OOTP closed). Then restart the game, and try to make it cause that same error again (make it try to put a new cap/uniform on the picture of a player that had his face generated in OOTP8).

Let me know how that goes.

By the way, if you do this on your original league files without backing up first, I reserve the right to say "I told you so."

Hi Steve,

Tried this, and the crashes stop! Thanks...except all the faces have changed (it's generating new ones now?)...

To be honest, that's not a huge deal, but I wonder if there's a way to keep all the old faces (my star starter looks less intimidating w/o his beard ).

EDIT: Okay, I've moved on, especially after seeing how fast you can change the players' faces right from their profile screen...awesome. Thanks for the fix! (I still have that backup if you guys want to look at it though).

Wow! I can't believe it worked.

We believe this is a leftover artifact from the ootp 8 faces.dat... So, no need to give us the backup. Still wouldn't hurt for you to hold onto it, though!

Glad we could help!
