BZ 1442: Ball Animation/Play-By-Play Text Issue

Was managing a game and notice the following:

Shortstop makes a diving play in the hole- but the ball animation/graphic is rendered in deep left field. Expected Result: Ball graphic should stop at the shortstop position- not deep left field.

I also have Ball Animation disabled- yet the ball still renders (no animation, just pops up on the field after a ball is hit into play- sometimes inaccurately as above). Expected Result: If ball animation is disabled, the ball should not render at all.

Version: OOTP9 Release
OS: Windows XP Pro SP3
DirectX: Latest version of 9
Resolution (Game): 1024x768
Resolution (Display): 1920x1200
League: Solo Fictional League imported from OOTP8
Ball Animation: Disabled

I have had this issue too.

The one that gets me is when there is a BB or K or a non-ball-in-play out and a ball appears somewhere on the field.

I've had a ball animation go to right field and the text said left field foul line. The text is correct unless Matsui ran past Damon in center and Cabrera is right field to retreive the ball. Also had a foul ball that was headed for the dugout but was a single. Oh well! Guess these are the things patches are made for.

This issue was claimed fixed for the upcoming patch. If you still have trouble with this matter after patching, please post a link to this thread along with a detailed explanation of what happened and we will re-open this report. Thanks.
