load_database - could not load players file
I just finished my first Amateur Draft in my 2008 Major League game. When the draft finished, the game auto-saved, I believe. I clicked on the Finish Day button in the bottom-right corner. I, then, tried to manually save the game. The game crashed. I think it was saving the players file at the time.
I restarted the game and now it won't load my game. It gives me the following error: "Database::load_database - could not load players file" I'm running the game on Vista 64. Not sure if this makes a difference, but I changed the Amateur Draft from the default June 15th date to June 5th. Last edited by Holy Toledo : 06-22-2008 at 12:12 AM. |

Was this a custom-created 2008 Major League game or a quick-start?

If the game crashed in the middle of saving players.dat it's quite likely that it has been corrupted. I'm going to send you a PM and ask you to send me your players.dat to just verify this problem.

On inspection the players.dat file was corrupt and as there is no easy way of getting this back, I'm going to move this thread to closed. If it happens again let us know and we'll re-open it.
