Schedule Generation

Hi,

Im trying to generate a schedule for my fictional league, and want to create interleague play, but it is saying it can't generate a schedule with interleague and balanced schedule checked on the league set up. How can I get it to generate a schedule with interleague play?

Why don't you uncheck the Balanced schedule box! Balanced schedule means that you play the exact number of games with every team on the schedule. Interleague games are always considerably less than division teams for example.

You'll also find that if your league structure and number of games played doesn't match one of the ready made schedules then the game itself won't schedule interleague matches when you ask it to create a schedule.

I tried unchecking the unbalanced schedule with the interleague checked and still no luck.

My league is 40 teams...20 in each sub-league

Have your read about schedules in the manual?

When you see a schedule title like "ILY_BGN_G162_SL1_D1_T4_D2_T4_SL2_D1_T4_D2_T4_C_a1. lsdl" do you know what you're looking at? You need to find a schedule that matches what you are using. 40 teams is a lot. You may need to go to the Schedules subforum in the Mods section to ask someone to make a custom schedule for you if you can't find what you're looking for. Make sure you know how many subleagues, divisions, & teams your schedule requires.

Do you know that you can download more schedules from Simcentral.net?

In any event, you are currently here in the Technical Support forum, but you probably want to be in the Schedules forum. You can get better help there. Good luck.

That is the type of schedule I have wanted. 1974 Mets play 23 teams 7 times each - 161 total, balanced and interleague. This schedule is preferred for multiple reasons. This is the easiest schedule to make, I would think, but so far I have not been able to produce it.

The way to do that is convoluted to say the least.

1 - Turn off interleague play
2 - Put all the teams into one sub-league
3 - Set the number of games
4 - Start the game
5 - Go into Game Setup -> League Setup -> Edit League Structure
6 - Reinstate the second sub-league and relevant divisions and move the teams back to it.
7 - DON'T regenerate the schedule

That should have all your teams playing 7 games against everybody else regardless of sub-league.

And keep in mind that schedules can only be changed during pre-season. I still don't understand why schedules can't be changed during the off-season.

I reduced my league to 36 teams, and a found a schedule in the schedules subforum, but its for no interleague play. I posted a request for one with interleague, and hopefully, I will have some luck finding one

Sounds like you're on your way. Good luck, and hope to see more of you on the forums.
