Anderson Utilities - AUFielding

After watching my Tigers lose, I decided to take my fustration out on my keyboard and pounded out this little program. (In it's infant stages of course)

You pick a team and it display this ballfield with every player (well, actually, only 5 now) for each position on a given team, with their fielding ratings.

I am going to add their error ratings, experience, arms and DP, but I need to find a larger ballpark first.

This was just a throw together to see how it would work.

This is the entire Detroit Organization. As you can see, it sure makes it easier to see how your team can best be laid out for best fielding.

If this can show the fielding ratings and arm as you say then I think this will be a very helpful little utility. Looking forward to it.

If I only knew your kind of smarts I could create some really cool utilities for FOF2K4 because what you have done done for OOTP2006 is amazing. It's like you're some kind of a coding god or something....

Here is the layout with a larger field and all of the ratings brought in.

Some people have bad hair days, I am having a bad layout day, as I am not happy with the layout of the values. I will think on it and change it when it comes to me. I may have to go down to 7-11 and drink a slurpee real fast to get a brain freeze to help.

All the information is there. As you can sorta tell by this, it will really make it easy to see your organizations fielding at a glance. I also want to color the top level players vs. the minor league players.

I seem to like this layout better. Now to color code the higher numbers green and the lower numbers red.

I may be on to something here now..

Can this be expanded to have a drop down to do the same for offensive ratings as another option?

Oh... good thought there....

Since all players are displayed in this format, I am limited on what can be displayed, only a few fields for each player. So, take it one step further, let you pick which fields to display.

I will take a look at it...

I would say contact, gap, power, speed, stealing if you can fit 5 , eye if 6 categories in.

Control, stuff, movement, durability and velocity for pitchers and if yiou can fit in positions.

Here is the 1st release of the program, just displaying the fielding.

http://www.planetootp.com/AUFielding/default.htm

I added the coloring, and I also sorted by the 1st field. You can sort by any of the fields.

Would love to see something like this in game to help make your depth charts.

Let me know how it works. Operators standing by.

Larry, have it up and running. Observations: It overflows my screen , cannot see bottom of field. I went all the way to 1280 x 760 which I can barely read and still bottom of screen is ou of sight. Cannot move or scroll window????

Stats are great, but how can I share this with my owners> Html output?

OK, will scrunch it down a little.

My screen is set at 1024, but I have the taskbar on autohide. Try that.

I'll take the idea even a step further. How about allowing us to enter weights to give different ratings and then having the program display the "score" for each player based on our weighting? I might favor speed, another might favor power. We could have this dispaly based on our designation.

Great job on the update, larry, it now fits perfectly at 1024 resolution.

Which of your utilities can I start with at the beginning of a new online league? Have run AUlogo and Autoface and they're great. What else can i use to start out?

And need help file to implement any you can suggest, as am NOT very file handling literate.

Thanks for all your fine work

Beta added the hitting stats for the players. I just did CF only, as not sure how much it is going to slow loading the information when I add the other positions. I may have to toggle it.

But now, you can click on the centerfielders and it will display the batting stats for those players. Average, HRS, RBIS. I wanted to add errors, but that is in a different file. I may add it after I add all of this.

I think is a very handy way to look at your team from a fielding viewpoint. Very useful to see where fielding weaknesses or strengths are at a quick view.

Updated this to show the stats for all of the players. If you click on the Leftfield window, a window pops up next to it to show the players stats. Click that window or the leftfield window and it will go away.

All positions now work and I moved the catcher and centerfielder to the side show you can see their hitting stats at the same time.

Let me know if you think this takes it to long to load and should have a 'do not load stats' option.

Also, any additional hitting fields to add. I wanted to try to avoid having scrolling to the right windows here, because of the half screen width for the grids.
