One more thing. I took a peek at your waiver report. You have two guys with 3 days left:

: P Fernando Campos - Revocable (3 days left)
: CF Abelardo Pedraza - Revocable (3 days left)

Our league ran into this as well. We had a few guys in the game that were on waivers, but on no teams and in some sort of limbo state... I think it was a function of the roster set we used, not sure. Anyway, I believe the commish just went in and deleted them. You may have to do the same.

The hardcoded DLB at the top of the page is also fixed in that version.
Okay so I just downloaded that zip, set the LEAGUEID parameter to 100, uploaded it, ran the script, and it's not working. Here's the link: http://www.sixfivepony.com/cgi-bin/development.html

Yeah, looks like I packaged up the old version. I'll get it fixed tonight when I get home.

Seems to be working okay now, thanks.

It didn't automatically forward me to the development.html page after it ran, but that's no biggie.

One last thing, though... I don't suppose that it would be possible to have the development html page created in the same place as the waivers page, in the /news/html directory would it? That would totally totally rule (and keep pesky users out of my cgi-bin as well!)

Thanks again for the awesomeness.

development.html is also a script, it's not a flat html page like the waiver wire is. I'm sure there is a way to set up other directories to be "executable" like cgi-bin, but I don't know offhand.

Oh, good point.

Nevermind then.

ping: Getch

I had a request from one of our league owners that actually made a lot of sense.

You think it would be possible to code the development.html page so that decreases in ratings would show up in red text and then increases in ratings would show up in green text, and changes to Talents could stay bold whether they increase or decrease.

That would be pretty awesome.

The genDev.html script seems to be erroring out when I try to run it today. The last sim in our league was Feb 1 - March 2, but the development.html page only shows development through Feb 1.

When I try to run the genDev.html script, it seems to time out and it doesn't automatically forward me to the development.html page. Is there a log generated anywhere that I can look at to try and see what might be happening?

There is no log... I would try telnet/SSH to the server and run it from there. There would likely be output from there that might tell you what is wrong

Okay, cool.

Also, any ideas on why the development report seems to be 1 sim behind the league? I.e. we just did our first regular season sim, so it's 4/12/1996 in our league. I got the newest file, exported to CSV, ran the script, and only see development for 4/2/1996, which was the previous sim that ran up to opening day.

It gets the league date from the HTML files. If you run the Dev report before the latest HTML files are uploaded, it will have the wrong date. Make sure to load the HTML files first.

Looking at your site, you are indeed loading the HTML pages after running the dev reports. A second feature of the dev report is providing the development of a particular player, and it being linked to the player's HTML page. For instance, see here, look at the link under "Contract Extension". If you load HTML after you run the dev report, you'll lose this link. LOL, you've only been using half of my utility this whole time!

Lastly, you'll notice I colored the dev reports as you requested. I also separated the team dev reports by year. You can grab these changes in the usual location.

That is absolutely awesome. Thanks Getch.

(ping Markus: For the love of god pay Getch a few bucks and include this in 2007!)

OK, HTML is updated, and I downloaded, setup, and ran the new version of the utility.

The colors are showing up properly, but the date is still showing April 01 and not April 11.

Did you run a new sim? The dates are stuck as they are once you run genDev.html... it's only going forward will new development changes be fixed to have the correct date.

I'm confused then. I thought if I re-ran genDev.html, it would regenerate the development.html page, and it would read the correct date since the HTML is current and shows 4/11/1996 as the date.

You're saying I have to wait until next sim, which will put the league to 4/21/1996, and then upload the HTML reports before I run genDev.html again. Then it should read correctly and show 4/21/1996 on the development.html page?
