It'll still work off of the 2006 utility, so you don't have to lose your development history upgrading!
Nice to see someone picked this up for 2007. Nice work Getch!!

Answer -- So much that we can get our legs tied together, walking 3 legged for the rest of our lives and I'd love it.

on the draft utility, how come it only shows 1 page worth of players? any way to add more for better lists and draft decisions?

LOL, already coded, about to release it. We're running the draft in our league and just want to make sure issues don't crop up before I release. Call it a beta test.

hey Getch, question for ya...

i got the development utilty all working, but when i try to run the script, my site gets the following error:

This Account Has Exceeded Its CPU Quota

Please contact this site's webmaster.
Wait a few minutes and use your browser's "Back" button or click here to try again.

If you are the webmaster, your account may have exceeded for one or more of the following reasons:
  • Your site has used more than 20% of the cpu.
  • Your account has too many processes running at the same time.
  • Your site was consuming too many resources. This happens on occassion to very busy sites that have inefficient scripts running.
Any idea if i can get around this, or am i stuck?

Sorry I missed all these posts.

The "missing players" happens due to feeder leagues... the .csv dumps don't mark them as rookies. Markus gave me the code to determine if the players are really draft eligible, but I promptly forgot all about it until you just reminded me now.

The new version of the draft was released a while back. Get it from ootpmodsquad.

The CPU issue... that's a problem. The process probably chews up a ton of CPU as it is parsing and calculating a bunch (although I would think most of it would be I/O, and not CPU). You might be hosed, but you could try copying all the data (development dir, csv files, prevRatings.txt) to a different server, and running it there, and copying the data back when complete.

I'm sure there is command in Linux to run genDev from the server in such a way that it takes longer and spreads out the CPU use, but I don't know offhand. You could put sleep commands in the middle of the code to put the thread to sleep every few seconds to spread out the CPU as well.

and just so that i am clear on the draft utility, the new version does in fact mark feeder league players? or did you forget about it in the new release?
