AUHistoryHint
What is AUHistoryHint?
A new top secret program that I have been working on and if I am treated right, I will release it to the public soon. What does it do? You run the program at anytime of the season. It digs through your player's history files and looks for newsworthy items, such as a player's 3000th career hit, a no-hitter, a 5 hit game, a career ending injury, player of the week/month awards. Now, it just does grab items for the particular year for certain items. For instance, for 5 hit games, it will just grab items from this year. However, for no-hitters it will grab them from any year. It also grabs major contract signings, over a certain amount, it will grab it. Then it goes searching for more information. It looks at this season and grabs this information: (Note, the minimum values are configurable) It grabs stuff like: If a team makes 5 or more errors in a game. If a team scores 20+ runs in a game. If a team gets 25+ hits in a game. If a game goes more than 19 innings. I am digging for more information that would be cool to display. I have a few surprises up my short sleeves. You can also will be able to configure it to use the almanac or yearly CSV dumps to grab information. You will also be able to tell what information to use, so, if you are in April, you would want to use last years data, but once you get some games in this year, you run it again and you have updated information. Right now, it takes about 5 seconds to gather the data in my test league. Now, what does it do with this information? Ah, good question. It collects it all and replaces the hints.txt file with it. So, as you are playing the game, you get hints related to YOUR league. Of course, if you switch leagues, you would want to run the program again to generate one for that league. A Beta version of this program will be available soon, but the beta version of it will JUST be available to people that have signed up for my newsletter shown in my signature. Sorry, no Mac version.

Just added some more cool tidbits.
Games where a pitcher balked more than twice, thew more than 4 WPs, shows what pitcher in what game allowed the most fly ball outs and what pitcher in what game allowed the most ground out outs in one game. I just found a game where Halladay allowed 5 hits, 5 runs without getting anyone out. Then Leiter came in and pitched 8 innings of 2 hit ball with 2 walks. He had 20 ground outs with 1 fly out. 1 double play. They lost 5-2. It also reports what game where a pitcher threw the most pitches in one game. Remember, this is for the current season, so it is really cool to see stuff about your league in the tips. Even the SO AND SO WON PLAYER OF THE WEEK is cool, as it lets you know who has been hot.

I just added the current longest streaks. So, you will see a tip like, 'Reggie Smith currently has a 32 game hitting streak. This is the longest streak in the league at this time.'
However, of course, this is only as accurate as your last CSV dump. What I do, is when I exit the game, I do a CSV dump. A complete dump. It only takes 10 seconds or so. Then, before I enter the game, I run my program and ta da, I have a cool tips. I will dig for some more off the wall type of information, maybe look into the leaderboard file or even the contract file and display some of the leaders or the top 5 salaries... During the week, I will stop adding features and add the toots and whistles, which is making it look pretty and add some error trappings. I will be releasing a version sometime this week to the subscribers of my newsletter. So, see my signature to join the list. BTW, I share the e-mail addresses with no one. You will get no spam from me or anyone else by signing up.

I added a 'Special Team' function. This function allows you to pick a special team (I may add multiple teams), and it will dig extra information up for this team. The 1st extra information I added was the longest home winning streak for said team all season. Also the away winning streak. Next I add the longest winning streak over all for the season for said team and then do the losing streaks. I also plan on adding more stuff about the team, like most hits in a game, most runs, walks, k's, etc. Little tidbits of information about your team and it's players.
The beta has been released to people that have subscribed to my newsletter.

Added a BUNCH more things.
Some are: Games where a player got 3+ IBB Games where a player got 5+ walks Oldest player in the league - Youngest player in the league Highest personality rating (all personality ratings divided by 6) very interesting Game with LEAST number of hits for teams combined League position breakdown - 1B=69 players 2B=71, etc... RHB, LHB, SHB break down for league, also RHP/LHP for pitchers Fattest player, skinnest player current streaks are all added List of players turned coach Tons more!! In a test fictional league, the program generated using the default settings - 757 entries!! I also added some more critera, like not showing salary information. Added the ability to hide the results while in the program, so the hints will be more of a surprise I plan on releasing the program this weekend to the public.

I decided to release it today so I can start getting some feedback on it.
http://www.planetootp.com/AUHistoryHint/default.htm Make sure you use IE to install the program. Once installed, you can run it from your START menu in Windows. It will update automatically when I update the program. Basically, do a CSV dump from the game and run the program, pick a league and then hit START. Wait a few minutes and watch the fun display. The results will be displayed. You can check the box to hide the result so the hints will be a surprise. There are a few parameters you can set to alter the results, with more to come. Please give me some feedback on the program!

Click on START and then copy and paste in there and click OK
%systemroot%\Microsoft.NET\Framework Look at the folders and see what the highest number is. It should be 3.0 or higher. If it is not, you need to install MS framework 3.0 on your computer. You can download and install 3.0 at this link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en MS Framework 3.0 is required for the application to run. If you have your Windows completely updated with the latest patches, (COMPLETELY), then it should be installed.
