AUPlayerHistory2007

Just released...

http://www.planetootp.com/AUPlayerHi...07/default.htm

After loading it with your selected league, you will get a list of active players on the left hand side. Click on one and you will see his history. Click on one of the items in his history and it will be removed. Click ADD to add it again and then click save.

It the RANDOM button after clicking on a player and a random event will be displayed. It will also pick a random date based on the guys career.

Use SELECT A TEAM to get a list of players from that team only.

Under tools, click RANDOM PLAYERS and it will ask you how many you want. It will then pick out that number of random players.

Under BULK, you can add massive changes to the players history, using the following:

Walk off Homeruns (You MUST have the game log saved)
Streaks (All streaks except hitting, which is already added)
Current Event (Use this to bulk an entry, like for a team, 'Larry Anderson took over as manager' or for the entire league ('League was expanded)

You can also do a search and replace (replace SISI with SOSO in all history files)

Remove lines with... - This will remove all lines in the history that contain 'this phrase'. Use with caution!!

Remove duplicates - this look through all of the history files and remove any duplicates from players that you or someone may have added.

Suggestions are welcome...

Larry - it's great that you migrated/updated this utility for OOTP2007. I used a few of the Bulk commands with no issues.

Under the "Tools" menu, there are selections for "Customize" and "Options". These menu items did not work. Could one of the customization options be to add to the predefined random events list?

Actually, I wrote this from scratch, just copied and pasted a few routines from the other program.

The Customize and Options are there, but no code behind them. They are created when I tell VB to create a 'standard menu'. This is the 1st release of this program, but it looks pretty stable. Just have to add more stuff!

I added DEBUT. It just works for the hitters so far, I have to write the routine for the pitchers next.

It is a very complicated routine and VERY slow.

First, this function requires you to do a yearly dump (I hope you took my advice and do your dump duty)

It goes player by player, loads him in, then searches the dumps for his first game, then it has to look up that game in another file to get the date of the game. It then creates a line like this:

19540505 Made his debut on 5-5-1954, he went 3-4, 1 double, 3 RBIs

I may add the pitcher, and maybe scope out adding '1st hit off... 1st HR off...', but no promises.

It takes a VERY long time, so if you do the whole year, then you need to run it and go do something. You can speed things up by picking a team and just doing that team.

Some of the bulk functions, this is one, work on the current displayed list of players.

NOTE: If you run this a 2nd time, it will add the entry a second time, just run a BULK remove duplicates after doing it if you run it a 2nd time. I will fix it from displaying a 2nd one.

NOTE2: I have not verified it yet, but the Walk off HR may be putting the wrong date in there. I will check that.

Well, at least 1 person looked at the program. I know more have, but it baffles me why people download the program, use it and never post anything positive or negative about it. It is really disappointing.

Larry - I see the "Add Debut Date" under the Bulk menu, but it is disabled. Also, the File-Exit menu selection does not work.

Yeah, I had a problem with the Debut date. It worked, but occasionally it would add a 2nd debut date for certain players, so I disabled it until I tweak it out.

I will fix the other problem, forgot to put code behind it, missing a simple me.close statement.

Thanks for the feedback
