Bug: Interleague play not working

I have a couple of leagues that have only 2 subleagues and each subleague has only 4 teams. In both cases, I checked (and verified after the season) and interleague play was selected, but they only play the 3 other teams in their league.

That may be the source of your problem. If you changed it to a single league with two 4-team divisions and generated the schedule it should work.

If you created a quick dummy league with that alignment, you should then be able to port over the generated schedule file for use in a two 4-team sub-league setup by changing the file name appropriately.

A schedule file can be used that way. For example, a league with two 8-team divisions can have its schedule file used by a league which has two sub-league each with a single 8-team division. All that's needed for the game to recognize it is the proper file name.

Le Grande Orange:

Thanks! I'll try that.

So if I understand correctly, interleague schedules are only possible if you have a league setup that matches one of the setups used to make the predefined schedules. So leagues with unusual numbers of teams, games, etc. will not be able to have interleague play since the schedule generator can't do it. Is this correct?

If so, is this on the list to be fixed in the not too distant future?

I can't even follow this discussion, but if everyone ends up feeling something could be clarified in the Game Guide, please PM me!

OK, I tried it and I still can't get it to work. Here is what I did:

First off, I have a league with 2 subleagues, each with 1 division and 4 teams in that division. So I made a dummy league with 1 subleague that had 2 divisions each with 4 teams in them and generated a schedule and saved it.

Now, if I try to import this schedule into my league, I can't have Interleague checked or it will give me an error saying "The loaded schedule has a different setting for Interleague as the current league." If I uncheck Interleague Play and then import, I get "The loaded schedule has a different structure as the current league."

So, am I doing something wrong here or does this method not work?

I figured out how to get Interleague working. I did as I mentioned in the previous post, but I had to edit the lsdl file that was generated. It's not hard, but it would be nice if it were more automated.

If you are unsure if your setup corresponds to a predefined schedule and if you've selected interleague play and you are using a fictional league, you might want to check the schedules of one of the teams to see if they are really playing teams from the other league.
