Demo .exe will not open

Hi all,
I've downloaded the demo, installed it and created a desk top icon for OOTP2006/ However, when i click on the shortcut ( or the actual game.exe file in the SI folder), nothing happens...not even an error message. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, turning off virus software/firewall, but nothing helps...the demo just wont start.
Windows XP
Pentium D
2.0 GB Ram
Nvidia GForce

Now, after reinstalling the demo, I am getting a Application Error message when trying to open the game: "The Application failed to initialize properly (0xc000005)

Sorry for the delay!

Please try this out:

Error when starting game: "The application failed to initialize properly (0x0000005). Click on ok to terminate application."
In your Control Panel, open the System control panel applet. Click the Advanced tab and, under Performance, click Settings. Click the Data Execution Prevention tab. Change the Data Execution Prevention ("DEP") setting to "turn on DEP for essential sevices only" and OK out of the control panel. Try again.

Since we haven't been able to replicate this, and haven't gotten more information, I'm going to move this to closed/claimed fixed. Please feel free to post a new thread if any issue comes up!
