Waiver issue?

I don't know all the rules to waivers, so this may not be a problem but I thought it was odd so I'll post and see...

I have a guy with 9 years pro service, 8 years on 40-man, but 3 option years left.
The first time I wanted to send him down to the minors I had to put him on waivers, he cleared and I sent him down. I never took him off the waiver wire, he just has showed CLEARED for half a season.
Then I had an injury and had to bring him up. Still never took him off the waiver wire (thought he'd stay claimable and someone would take him off my hands ).
Now I wanted to send him back down, cuz he really does suck. I didn't have to send him through waivers... obviously because it still says CLEARED.

Is this right? It seems to me that I should have had to send him through waivers again... in which case the game needs to make sure that if he's cleared waivers you HAVE to get him off the waiver screen since it's showing he's cleared 4 months ago.

I won't profess to understand waivers completely either, but AFAIK the year is divided into several waiver periods - waivers that have been attained remain "useable" for the full remaining waiver period. Googling around, for 2005 the periods apparently were 2/16 - 5/2, 5/3 - 7/31, 8/1 - 11/10, and 11/11 - 2/15/2006...though it's anybody's guess how this is simulated in OOTP. (OOTP6 had waivers being good for the entire year, didn't it?)

Anyway, I actually don't understand why you had to pass the guy through waivers in the first place if he had options left. Were you just trying to demote him to the minors, or also taking him off the 40-man roster?

I know I wanted him off the 40-man, cuz he sucks.
Don't remember if I actually tried to do so or was going to leave him there and just put him on waivers hoping he'd be claimed.

I'm sorry for the awfully slow response to this thread.

Obviously, some time has passed since you posted this issue, and the 1.0.2 patch has since been released as well. Are you still seeing this issue?

Please let me know!

Thanks,

Steve

You have a hotkey for that yet?
When all the major quirks get worked out... you need a vacation.

We have a rule that states that Tech Support threads wherein we have not received a response within 7 days will be closed.

This one meets this criteria, so I'm closing this.

If you want to discuss it again, just PM me with the thread link, and I'll re-open. (Don't just say "Hey, reopen my thread." I need to know the URL, thanks!)
