Player Expenses For Released Player

I want to release a player with a $350,000 salary, whose contract will be automatically renewed. The league date is Aug-11 and when I go to release the player it says that I will be adding $607,099 to my player expenses. This doesn't make any sense at all since that is more than is contract is worth. Another weird thing is the player expnses cost increased while he was a DFA for 10 days. Does anyone know why the costs are too high and why the costs would increase instead of decrease over time?

I had the same bug. Here's my post from GenDisc:

I'm confused here. I am trying to release a player in the last year of a contract. The player was signed to a 3-year deal "before 2004." The current game date is August 14, 2006. The final year of the deal is worth $740,000. When I go to release the player, it tells me that releasing him will cost me $1,274,444.

Why is his cost to release so high? What am I missing here?
There's a pic of my screen in the thread, which you can get to here.

Check out that thread JT linked... it seems exactly the same... more confirmation.

Does your ML team play 162 games?
If so, has your ML team, at the time you tried to release this guy, played 119 games?

If both are yes, we know exactly what it's doing. You should be charge 97,222 for releasing this guy.

It is indeed a 162-game season. I did not check my finances before and after to see if the amount charged was equal to the amount stated on the pop-up.

I have also had this exact same problem. I'm in early July, and when I release a player with a $300K salary it costs over $450K.

I thought Markus said this was fixed (or is that what you're asking to be confirmed?).

We have a rule that states that Tech Support threads wherein we have not received a response within 7 days will be closed.

This one meets this criteria, so I'm closing this.

If you want to discuss it again, just PM me with the thread link, and I'll re-open. (Don't just say "Hey, reopen my thread." I need to know the URL, thanks!)
