Have AI roster changes been over-fixed?

In one of my leagues, I'm playing strictly the GM role, with line-ups/pitching staff assigned to the AI manager.

Whereas before there was a problem with the AI changing things when you didn't want, now they won't change things even when you tell the to.

The issues:

When I make roster changes (call-ups, activate from DL, etc) the AI will not adjust the line-ups/depth charts/pitching staff to reflect it unless I manually go to each screen and tell the AI to do it.

The depth chart is now completely ignored, whether it's set to "when starter tired" or "every third game" or anything in between.

Is this on my end somehow, or is this a global problem?

I've noticed this too. I play in GM mode, but I have been setting my own depth charts and lineups. However, in my minors, I like to have guys platoon, so everyone is getting ABs. However, if I have a guy playing "every 2nd game", he NEVER plays.

Fairly large issue, IMO. Bumping back to the first page.

I just went into a league I had been using to test and set some of the depth chart to reflect some of what you mentioned then simmed one day at a time and checked the lineups and so far the AI seems to be following my adjustments that I made. I have not tested this over a long period of time but it sounds like it is an issue that you could see pretty much right away if it was working correctly or not.

Were you simming or watching the games? I was watching the games when I encountered the problem. Maybe that's it? But I don't understand why the AI won't make roster changes to reflect aquisitions and such in watched vs simming.

The depth chart for played/watched games IS definately ignored now, though.

In my experience they only shuffled the lineups on Mondays.

There is also a hard-to-find setting - in the Options and Ballpark screen - make sure you have that set correctly.

I could find no such setting on that screen. You sure it's the right one?

On your team screen, under the Home tab, click on the Options and Ballpark subtab. Halfway down on the left is a setting "Roster AI" and next to the checkbox, "Prevent any AI roster changes". For your purposes, make sure that this is unchecked.

Huh. Do you have to be in commissioner mode or something? I totally don't have that option on that screen.

dola,

You do have to be in commissioner mode, apparently. It was unchecked by default (thus allowing AI changes) on the league I'm currently playing.

I'll check it on the GM-only league I noticed the problem with when my wife is off the PC that has that league on it.

Is there a list of AI roster movements that this check box enables/disables?

Will it set depth charts, enable/disable "every X days" moves, sign minor leaguers to the lowest level (annoying), etc?

Well, now that I'm a mod I'll answer my own post.

There's still an issue with the depth chart being ignored in all managed games, but it has a TT# now, so I'm going to close and move this entirely worthless thread.
