Hello - I've just joined a new league and the commissioner has released everyone as a free agent and the team owners have to sign their entire rosters. However some of the free agents don't come up with the option to "offer contract" when I check the action menu. And when I check their contract status they are still unsigned free agents. Has anyone experienced this before and is there anything that can be done about it?

They could be draft eligible players that are in the free agent pool until the next draft. Players are created prior to the draft usually a month or so before. It all depends on the league settings. You will still be able to see them, but not sign them. Please let me know if this is the case.

Hmmm... doesn't appear so as we are in January and the draft is in June.

I understand that, but the draftees will be with the free agents prior to the draft, sometimes more than a month before. Is this a user created roster set that the league is based on or is it completely fictional?

Can you post some screenshots of the players that can't be signed including their player history screen and player profile screen? Thanks.

I'm having all sorts of trouble converting the screen captures to the proper files but...

One of the players when I checked his history had actually signed a "0-year" minor league deal with a team. Will they not be taken out of the free agent pool until they are assigned by their GM?

Also, another player is a 28-year old so it doens't seem like he's for the draft and he doesn't have any contract. But he is Canadian and I noticed that Canada has 1 active league and 247 players in our game world... would this have anything to do with it?

If there are other leagues involved, i.e. Canada, and the Commish does not have the option to allow free agents leave leagues, then that would be why you can't sign the player in question. The other player is a little puzzling and should not be in the free agent pool if he signed a deal.

Okay... all was resolved as to the above previous problem.

Went through a couple of weeks, no troubles.

Then two sims ago OOTP crashed to desktop when I attempted to "Load Online League File" through the game menu. When I restarted the game it seemed like it had advanced everything to the correct game date so I exported as normal. Then for this round the same crash happened when I went to "Load Online League File" so I decided to delete the folder and create a new one, then download the league file from the main page & paste the files into the new folder. I did that, but when I went to load the game it has the current date but I have no info especially mail (it shows over 400 unread messages but the messages are all blank). I tried to load my team again through the FTP option but got that other error about not being able to import because it has the wrong game date.

Any ideas here?

Hmmm, there have been some other issues in tech support related to blank e-mail messages. Have you tried searching in here for that? If not, I will try to find those threads later today or tomorrow. Thanks for your patience.
