Hey guys,

I'm in my 21st career year now in the game and all of a sudden I am receiving an error while simming during the offseason (approaching the free agent filing start). The game simply crashes back to the desktop.

I tried to get as much of the crash data as I could. This is what Windows tells me when the game crashes:

AppName: ootp2006.exe

ModName: ootp2006.exe
ModVer: 1.0.0.0

I am using the latest patch.

Any help would be extremely helpful since I don't want to lost my current saved game progress. Thanks.

Can you upload the file for us to look at? How to FTP Files to Us

This will help us to determine if it is a system specific issue or a problem with the league setup. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I'm having difficulty uploading to the ftp site using both IE and SmartFTP. The connection continues to time out. Is there a problem on your side for the FTP?

Just a quick update: I'm still unable to upload anything to the ftp site specified. It continues to time out. Is there an alternate ftp address we can upload to?

Is there any way I could just email it to someone? I don't have access to any other form of FTP.

Just as an update, I've tried reinstalling OOTP 2006 also but this has not solved the problem crash I've been running in to that occurs during the free agent signing period.

I'm sorry that it has taken so long to get back to you. Did you ever get around your crash or do you still need me to take a look at your league file?

I still haven't found a way to work around the problem. I've tried reinstalling the game and doing these little quirky things to see if I can get around the game crashing through the free agent signing period but I haven't had any success. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, the crash still happens even though I've tried to reinstallthe game. I'm not quite sure how to circumvent the crash at this point.

Any update on this? I still can't get the game to crash on my end. Have you tried a complete uninstall, deleting all OOTP directories, and then a full re-install?

Hi Goodsox,

I just tried deleting all the messages and emails and all the news folders and that actually has cleared the problem now somehow. I've lost a lot of player history but I can now continue the franchise. Thanks for your help!
