RBI Not Credited Properly

What's up, guys? My claim was a perfectly legitimate one. Why erase it?

Nothing of yours was deleted as far as I know. What post are you referring to?

I just posted in here about a situation I have come across in which an RBI that should have been credited to a batter, but was not because of a scoring mistake. Suddenly, it is no where to be found, even among my subscribed threads.

I'm not sure what happened then I did see that thread a little while ago, but I did not do anything with it. Can you put the details of the issue into this thread and I will change the title? Sorry for the inconvenience.

No prob. I understand mistakes can be made. I just thought it had been deleted because I said something inflammatory or some effort was being made to hide a mistake of the game.

Anyways, here is my situation again:

Runners on first and third, one out. The batter hits what the PbP describes as a routine DP ball to the SS. The SS fumbles the ball and everyone is safe, the run scores from third. Now, in the situation that no DP would have been in effect with one out, the batter is still credited with an RBI despite the error because the official scorer must take into consideration that the infield was back and would have not had a shot at him going home. So, he would have scored regardless. Now, even in the situation of a potential DP, the same general rule comes into play. Because no DP can ever be assumed, it cannot be assumed that the batter would have made the third out of the inning at first. So, because the infield was back, the batter is credited with an RBI because he effectively did his job by hitting a groundball to the infield. Additionally, the pitcher should be charged with an earned run, but he was not.

I also commented that I wish the remaining runners on base would have scored to see how the game would have handled them in terms of whether or not htey would have been earned, giving us some insight into how much the game understands that no DP can be assumed.
