Corrupted Game File - Possible "Virus"?

I belong to a SIM league and we have hundreds of players all named "Joe Smith" popping up all over the league, on major and minor league rosters. Is there any way to "clean" the DB, and can anyone shed any light on this problem?

It is definitely a corrupt game file. The only solution would be to restore to a previous backup of the game. Unfortunately, once a file is corrupted there is nothing that can be done. Hopefully there is a recent backup that can be restored.

Thanks. We pretty much figured out that is was corrupt, and were looking at a restore, however it means losing several SIMS which is not going to be popular amongst some owners. (since my team went 0-8 during that time, I'm pretty sure I won't be too disappointed)

However, I am curious as to how this occurs, and is it likely some kind of attack?

I am a programmer/developer and would gladly put some effort into a program that could export, "clean", and restore the Database if I could get some help from the game developers on a way to do it. I work constantly with SQL Server and ACCESS databases and would gladly write a utility to do this.
