AI doesnt recognize Hong Kong as a city

My game also doesnt recognize Havana

Also, some of my cities are having a hard time staying recognized...like Berlin and Copenhagen which are recognized but seems to be unrecognized after logging off.

If you're referring to Havanna in Cuba, its spelled with two n's in the city.txt file.

Havanna would be a misspelling

It's not Havanna, its spelled "Habana" in the game, (If you just type in Habana, it will pull up Ciudad de la Habana).

Both Havanna and Ciudad de La Habana are in game - so the first one needs to be spelled correctly.
Hong Kong seems to be split into areas - maybe districts?

Also I notice that the accents are again not on Montréal and Québec.

A decent work-around for Hong Kong is Shenzhen which is just across the border in Guangdong

If you can find Kowloon, that's a district of Hong Kong. Considering how loosely this game defines 'nations', have you tried checking whether Hong Kong is listed as a nation?

Edit: Could be 'Kowlun', I suppose.

Hong Kong isnt a nation in OOTP (but is in Football Manager) and sadly Kowloon isnt listed either ot Wanchai which was my other guess. Thanks for the input though.

Don't see Hong Kong in the nations.txt file, but they do have their own flag in the flag folders. Could maybe take that info SDPM supplied and make Hong Kong a separate "nation", or just add Hong Kong to the cities.txt file.

I'm not familiar with Hong Kong at all, but what is the general consensus here as to how Hong Kong should appear in the game, or did you guys determine that it's correct. I'd like to log this for Markus to fix, but I need some more info.

Hong Kong is a city and it should be in the game. Its also the name of a larger district. Its like Los Angeles; there is the city of Los Angeles and the much larger County of Los Angeles.

According to all the maps I see, Hong Kong isn't a city, but rather an island. After the British got a lease on some mainland areas back before the 20th century, they just added them to the rest of the Colony of Hong Kong. Kowloon is the major city in the province, but there is no city called Hong Kong.

This would be wrong. Kowloon is a district in the city of Hong Kong the same way that Hollywood is a district in Los Angeles.

With so much to do and see in and around Hong Kong, it helps if you know where you're going. Here are some maps to help you find your way around the city's major districts. Map files require Acrobat Reader. If you don't have Acrobat Reader, you can download it here.

Hong Kong is a city-state, much like Singapore.
