Won't verify serial number

Sorry this is a OOTP 2006 problem, but nobody seems to want to help. I was going to upgrade to 2007 but since it has taken over a month (and counting) to get a response to my question has me headed back to PureSim...

But here goes...

I upgraded to a new computer (also a mac) and now my OOTP won't start. I tried entering my serial number (hundreds of times it seems) and I always get the same error: a dialogue box titled 'Failure" - with the message, "The product was not activated. Please check the serial number was enetered correctly and try again. Game will run in demo mode."

I emailed Marc Duffy - the last half-dozen or so emails have gone unanswered.

I apologize that your question has gone unanswered. Please understand that tech support at this point is manned exclusively by volunteers. OOTP is really a 2-person shop, despite now being under the SEGA moniker, and I haven't been looking over in the 2006 world. (If you look in this forum, you'll notice that none of the recent posts have gone a month without a response!)

I hope you won't let that deter you from trying 2007. It's a vastly superior game to 2006. (Just ask on the forums.)

It sounds like you're having an issue with the licensing, which is handled by e-License. To resolve your issue, you'll probably need to e-mail e-license support: support@elicense.com. They're generally pretty prompt about responding. Just explain what you did here about the new computer and so forth, and they should be able to take care of it...

Please let us know if this resolves your issue!

Steve,

Thanks. I really do understand about the volunteers and the tremendous commitment by all of you. It's just that I haven't ever had to go a month without so much as a reply... And a month without my baseball game!!!

Cheers -

chris

I'm really very sorry about that.

Hopefully e-License responds promptly (they typically do), and you can find it in your heart to try out 2007. If you get a chance try the demo. I think you'll find it's a huge improvement over 2006.

I'll leave this support thread open until you post back that your issue was resolved!

Thanks!

Wasnt Mac licenses handled by eSellerate instead of eLicense? This is a Mac licensing issue, not a PC right?

Just emailed elicense. Hope that gets the ball rolling again.

It's really my fault, I suppose - I thought I had a dialogue going with Marc Duffy at SI Games, and then he just stopped responding. I was simply replying to an email he had sent me, but when I looked just now, the email address listed is different than the one I used originally. So maybe there was just a communication breakdown. And of course, the resultant frustration... I will definitely give '07 a spin. I should have known to come to this forum first.

It's because you all are so prompt that I was so frustrated by the lack of reply. But that's neither here, nor there. I'll keep you posted, and hope this gets fixed quickly. In the meantime I'm checking out the '07 demo...

Thanks again -

chris

Erk! Is this a Mac issue, Chris?!

If so, my apologies, we'll have to work with eSellerate, who handles the Mac licensing. If that's the case, please e-mail me your order ID to steve.battisti @ ootpdevelopments.com and I'll hand-walk it through!

Thanks,

Steve
