Error: Could Not Download File

I downloaded OOTP8 and purchased it. So far i'm having a horrible experience. I downloaded the league file of a league I joined and successfully loaded it within the game. When I enter my password and click 'Game' on the menu and click on 'Load Online League File', it downloads the file until 96% then gives me the error

"Error: Could Not Download File"

Please keep in mind I have tried this on 2 computers. Same result on both. The file is for both OOTP 8 and 7.

My game version is 8.0.0.13. Windows XP.

What could the problem be? Please help me out. I feel like my money went to waste.

You might want to post on the main thread, or ask your league person on how to do this, This section is visited less and only has 1 person who goes through these from bottom to top, and a few other who try and help out, but if maybe someone on the main area would be able to help you out quicker.

Did you ever make any progress on this one? Did you try getting a clean copy of the league file?
