Can this league be saved ?

I don't mean to throw my 4 1/2 year old under the bus, but...I had my long-time league minimized and my son restarted the PC. I tried to get back ino OOTP (I have OOTP 7 vers 2.0.3.68) and when I hit Continue Game it gets up to 100% then freezes. I tried to use a backed up save and the same thing happens - 100% then nothing. I've never had freeze issues in the past and I'm sure it's related to the closing of the game without saving...does anybody have any ideas or suggestions ?? Thanks !

In your .lg saved game folder, are any of your .dat files at a size of 0kb?

Can you load any other leagues?

The league folder has .dat files ranging from 1 kb to 23,000 kb (players.dat)

I was able to load a previous saved game and I could create a new league.

Looks like 17:
coaches
ethnicities
faces
human_managers
messages
names
nations2
offers
options
parks
players
retired
scouting
teams
trades
weather
world

Should I just wait until the next version and hope the league imports ?

No, we can keep trying a few things. I'm moderately sure that damaged saved games wouldn't convert well, regardless.

Could you please try FTPing your .dat files to us using the following instructions: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...-files-us.html

Thanks.

Nutlaw - Thanks so much for your effort on this ! It's much appreciated. I have zipped all my dat files to the ftpotpsupport site as per the instructions. It's there as renner.zip. Thanks again.

Well, good news. Your .dat files work just fine on my computer. This means that your saved game should be just fine. Instead of hitting the Continue Game button, did you try using the Load Game button to start up the save?

If that doesn't work, could you try putting a copy of just your .dat files into a new .lg folder and see if that loads up?

OK ! I was able to create a new league folder with the dat files and that league started up, but the players didn't have histories, no messages, etc. The career leaderboards and league history (year by year records, etc) seem ok, so I think I'll trade off the loss of history for existing players and move ahead with what I have ! Thanks Nutlaw !!!!!!!!

Well, you can try copying over your player history files to the new .lg folder. If they don't cause a problem, keep them there. If they do, get rid of them.

I'm glad that most of your league is intact, at very least.
