Crashing When Importing Historic Players

I have been able to import historic players from baseball-almanac.com with no problems but just out of the blue all night tonight I have tried to import a couple more historic players but the import gets to 85% then I receive an error message that says OOTP.EXE has experienced a problem and must shut down. Any suggestions since this process has worked before and now is not? The only thing I tried was to attempt it with the anti virus off but no luck. Any help is appreciated..thanks.

Which version of the game are you using, please?

I am using OOTP8.0.0.0.13. Just last week I added several historic players with no problem at all. Now, when I try and add players the status bar goes all the way up to 85% but when it hits 85% I get the message that says OOTP8 has caused an error in OOTP.exe and must close. I did some experimenting and if I put in a historic players ID incorrect it rejects it like it normally does and I also manually opened my master data file that the historic players are imported from to check and see if the historic player IDs were there and sure enough, they were there. I just don't get how two weeks ago this was working fine and now it is not. I haven't made any changes at all to my computer like adding files or even adding patches to the OOTP file. Nothing on my computer has changed except the ability to import historic players. Any suggestions?

Hrm. Not my usual area of expertise, so please suffer through my guesswork.

Did you move to a different time of year in your game universe that might have caused this behavior?

Can you try creating another test historical league and see if players import properly there?

I didn't move forward in my game. I have just been plaing as normal. If I don't receive any more responses I may try the test league, but my computer runs slow with the game and it takes forever so if there are any more suggestions or inputs I'd like to try those first. Thanks for the educated guesses, though.

Does anyone else have any suggestions?
