BZ 1413: DH Being Ejected causes unresolvable situation

2nd game of the year, in a DH Game

DH gets thrown out of the game for arguing balls and strikes with the Umpire.

Game asks for a substitute.

However, you cannot chose DH as the replacement's position. When the inning ends, it will try to fill the gap, but since you have a player with no position (and the game won't accept PH or PR as their position), you have to Ctrl-Alt-Del out of the game, because it will not let you off that screen.

I've run into this problem twice now. The problem is as follows:

While simming games, based upon time I usually do inning by inning, perhaps two or three at a time. The AI coach on my team will sub out the designated hitter, which is fine, however there is no position to move the subbed player into because DH is not listed among the available positions. I've tried moving other players already in the lineup to DH, but DH isn't available to move him into. This leaves the team without a DH in a league where the DH is on, thus causing me to crash the game and reload.

At first I figured it was an incidental occurrence, and shrugged the first happening off as a mistake on my end (i.e. fatigue), but it happened again last night.

What is the remedy?

ADDED: By the way, sorry if this question has already been answered, but unfortunately the forum's search engine won't allow searches for a word with less than five characters and searches for "substitution designated hitter" only returned a few pages of dynasty reports.

This issue was claimed fixed in version 9.0.27. Can you please upgrade to that version and let us know if you are still having this problem?

I have upgraded to the newer version, but I'm using a saved game from the first one. Would that cause a problem, and if so, why would it?

did you upgrade by pasting the .exe or by using the setupfile?
