BZ 1459: ML suspensions not kicking in

Hi,

Playing with the ML quickstart (full minors etc) I noticed that in one game, an opposing player got a 5 game suspension for charging the mound or whatever the phrase is. Anyway, it was announced in the news on the 20th of the month. Guess who the star turn was for the opposition next game? Said player, who was meant to be suspended! Other than that which had me jumping around mad for 5 mins, great game - loving it. It's 5am and I've sneaked up to grab an hour before work.

Can you tell me the month and what point of the season you were in? Perhaps Spring Training or the playoffs? I would guess the answer is yes, but do you have the enable suspensions box checked in the game setup?

I guessing if its 5 AM right now, you're in Britian?

Thanks for the reply.
Enable suspensions is ticked;
Guy was suspended playing against me on 20 May, and played against me on 21 May and 22 May.
Regular season games all of them.

Yep, in the UK, which partially explains why I'm shaky on the terminology in places!

Could you by chance type the news article you saw here? I'll see if I can duplicate the problem based on the article you give me. Were you watching/managing the game in which he was suspended?

You wouldn't happen to be from around Bristol, would you?

Milwaukee first baseman grossly misbehaved in yesterdays brewers-pirates at coors field. He earned it by aggressively challenging a called strikeout with the homeplate umpire. As a result of his inappropriate conduct on the field, the commissioner has given Fielder a 5 game suspension

Message ID was 408 if that is any use at all.

I quick-played all the games.

And I'm in Kent, but please don't hold that against me. Originally from Cleveland (the English county).

Logged as BZ#1459; last question (hopefully) does the player profile screen have his status as suspeneded in orange with a day value?

I wouldn't know a reason to hold it against you (and so I won't ), I actually had a bit of a random question for you if you were from Bristol, but I wound up answering it for myself a few minutes ago checking a website for the first time in a few months.

Terribly sorry - I didn't realise that the autosaves go over the original game file, so I don't have a save that's within 5 games of the suspension - I just did the entry draft 2008. If it helps, the player history shows a 5 game suspension.

I had a ex from Bristol, but I don't much like her, or the sports teams from there on principal. Thanks for your help!

Quite right. Especially Rovers - bunch of twonks. Went to watch us play at the Memorial Ground and said to one of their stewards "I'd read in reviews that Ashton Gate was a dump. It's not that bad really now we're here" - he obviously had had his sense of humour removed a few years before...

In the player's history it should say the date it occurred on (can you tell us what it is). Did you happen to notice if he had a jail bars symbol next to him on the roster.

I was actually going to ask about Rovers, but I've never been within 40 (probably a hell of a lot more than that) miles of a Bristol...so you can't get mad at me

On his history, it says:
05-20-2008: Suspended 5 games...

I didn't look at him at the time he was suspended, but I did notice when a player of mine was suspended he had the jail bars symbol next to his name.

In fact, I just checked that suspension out...He was suspended 8 games. According to the game logs, he didn't play in the next 7 games but did in the 8th, which was due to be his final game suspended. There was a rest day in there, which possibly suggests the game is doing days rather than games suspended. Hope I haven't uncovered another suspension problem!

Player suspension oddity

I'm thoroughly enjoying OOTP9 so far, and I've just noticed one problem (apologies in advance if this has already been brought up). I've seen a couple of times that players who are suspended actually sit out one fewer game than they should. I saw one player suspended 5 days for arguing with the ump, and when I looked at his player page, it noted he was suspended for 4 games. It seems like maybe the game is counting the game in which the player is ejected as part of the suspension. Another player who was suspended 7 game for fighting sat out 6 days instead.

Overall, great work, and kudos to the development team and beta testers for a fine job.

Hey, buddy. Glad to hear that you're enjoying the game.

It appears that this one has already been logged. I'll merge the threads to add your verification.

This issue has been claimed fixed for the upcoming patch. If after installing it you still experience this problem, please post a link to this thread in Tech Support along with an explanation of what happened so that we can re-open the report. Thanks!
