Injury "Trends" Or Just Coincidence?

If nobody else is noticing this, then it's probably just coincidence in my game. But I've started noticing that when injuries occur, it's usually to a group of players who play the same position.

For instance, the day Jeter went down in my franchise, 3 other shortstops were injured across baseball. Another day there were 4 or 5 pitchers. A few days later it was a handful of first basemen.

Is it some sort of glitch in the game that's causing "trends" to occur in injuries, or just coincidence?

I believe that this is just coincidence. Can you look at a season's worth of injuries to see if you find any particular pattern?
