Problem with roster transaction

I looked around and didn't see this anywhere yet: I have one player who has no "Actions" available except to go to his player profile. I'm in the Team area, Transactions page. I really want to DFA Brandon Puffer (TX Rangers, standard 2008 ML game setup) and get him off the 40-man, but neither right-clicking or clicking the action tab gives an option to do so. I can only go to his profile or short list him.

I checked many other players and had no problem getting all of the usual options. On Puffer's profile page I still cannot do anything except short list him. I also tried several other pages and cannot get actions for Puffer on any of them (waivers, DL list page, etc.) I'm on a PC with XP home, just downloaded Wed. afternoon, so I'd assume current version.

Can you try dragging and dropping him within one of the sub-tabs in the Transactions screen, rather than using the menu?

Doesn't work. Works with any other player.

Sounds like the game has no team info for the player, but the team record has him on the roster.

I'm sending you a PM, could you when you email me put in the player ID for this particular player if possible (it'll be on the editor tab when you go to the player)

I was logged out, is that why you couldn't send a PM? I'm new to OOTP and this forum format, so I'm not sure. PM's are enabled in my preferences.

I am seeing this issue with the MLB set as well in my online league. Somehow this guy also got duplicated as he was on my Triple-A roster and my Double-A roster. I released him from one and now the other one has been left behind like this. I think that might have something to do with this (Bug #1471 is for the copied player and I've referenced this issue there as well though it might require a separate BZ).

I'm seeing this issue as well. I am also using Texas and both Brandon Puffer and Chris Shelton have no transaction selections on their action menu. I was able to drag and drop Chris Shelton to the Waiver box, but his status stays as "3 days left" so I can't him off my 40 man roster.

Also if you go to their card and look at the Scout Reports the team scouting report doesn't show up, only the OSA.

Guess I'll try to start again after the patch is out.

I found a way around the issue. It seems the players are retired, but still showing up on the rosters. If you log in with commisioner mode, you can right click on the player and select UNRETIRE and they will come off your roster and go into the free agent pool.

This issue should be fixed after you download build 27 or later and start a new MLB saved game. It was a roster set error.
