Crashes at various times (Not responsive)
1. What, specifically, were you doing when the problem occurred? Include the specific screen you were on when the problem occurred.
It's happened during the initial load screen (with the rotating baseball at the bottom) - sometimes it comes back after a few minutes and goes to the main menu. Other times it does not. It's happened after pressing "sim till next week" and it has happened - sh*t - I can't remember what screen I was on. Sorry. 2. What happened? Was there an error message? If so, what was the specific message? The top title area says (Not responsive) then a note comes up with the non-responsive message and the game needs to close. 3. Were you able to repeat the error with this same game? With another game? If so, what steps did you take? Sometimes if I just click the mouse in a benign area, it comes back after a few minutes. That's the only thing that has helped on occasion. 4. If relevant, what do you think the program should have done? 5. What is your league configuration (fictional/historical, etc.) The first one was a 2008 minor league, then majors. The last one (which really sucked) was after a fantasy draft during the first season. 6. Are you a Mac or PC user? Regrettably, PC. I run Windows XP Service Pack 2 with an AMD Athlon 3500+ processor. Thanks in advance. |

How much memory does your computer have? What other programs are running in the background (anti-virus, messanger, etc)?
Do note that sometimes OOTP will look frozen and it is actually still working. When you get the crash message obviously that isn't the case but other times it might grey out your screen and look frozen but it might still be working. From your description it sounds like you had one of each of these scenarios.

Could you try temporarily disabling Norton Anti-Virus to see if the crashes stop?
I can't remember the exact name of the setting, but users in the past have had trouble when they had Norton indexing all of their files or somesuch. |
