PC/MAC: PC
What were you doing? Hitting coach was with team before I accepted job, with no salary of expiry date.
What happened? Signed coach to extension. Returning later, position was vacant, and coach had disappeared.

Any chance this coach retired? You get a message sent to you when this happens so if you didn't delete your game emails then there might be a note there.

This is an MLB 2008 league. I simmed until hired by Tri-City (S A, COL)

My transaction log shows:

July 28 Signed hitting coach T Roberts (unfilled position I hired the same day I was hired).

August 3rd, signed Hitting Coach P Spencer to 3-year extension.

August 11, Fired hitting coach P Spencer
Signed hitting coach R Gomez

So it's possible that the coach simply did not show up on the personnel screen, and the act of viewing the personnel screen (or the hiring of a new one, because the old was not displayed) caused him to be fired and replaced.

MLB 2008. I simmed until offered job on July 28 with Tri-City (S A, COL) (which is a team of 17 catchers, by the way)

My transaction log shows:

July 28 Signed hitting coach T Roberts (who is actually the pitching coach)
(On Personnel screen Roberts is PC, Spencer is HC)
August 3 Signed Hitting Coach P Spencer to a 3-year extension

August 11 Fired hitting coach P Spencer
Signed hitting coach R Gomez

(On August 11 I look at personnel screen and there is no hitting coach, so signed a new one (Gomez)) I did not fire HC Spencer, nor receive a message about it.
