OOTP Dead
Version: 9.0.26
PC/MAC: PC (Vista) What were you doing? Anything on the main screen: "Continue Game," "Load Game," or "New Game" What happened? When I click on any of them, the status bar comes up and goes to 100%, but then OOTP crashes. Reproducible? Yes Problem occurs with other leagues? N/A The game was playing fine until yesterday when my power went out. Now I can't get back to my old league, and can't start another league. I guess I could uninstall and reinstall, but I'd like to salvage my old game. |

The saved_game directory shouldn't be deleted on a uninstall, but you could take a copy of the .lg directories inside it and then uninstall/reinstall and then copy the .lg directories back into saved games.

Sounds very much like your league file was corrupted when the power went out. If that's the case, I'm afraid you may not be able to salvage it.

Sox: Yeah, good idea. But the only problem with that, whether it's due to my stupidity about computers or something else, is that I can't find the saved games. I installed to the default location, and what I can find inside the OOTP9 folder is a folder for "data" and one for "Uninstall." Neither has a saved_game directory. Where's that supposed to be?
Bruce: It seems like more than that. If it were just the league file, I'd think I'd be able to start a new game, but I can't do that either. Last edited by la2355; 06-22-2008 at 03:54 PM. |

If you go to My Documents (XP) or Documents > User Name (Vista) there'll be a directory for OOTP, and in there will be a Saved Game directory.
