game crashes during load up

i just bought it, and it freezes every time i try to load it.
its a pc.

lots of free space on the drive.. so thats not it.

is there an error message?
have you tried restarting?
what are your system specs?
are you using AVG?

256mb memory, 80gig hard drive, amd sempron processor 3200+. i just deleted anti virus golden or whatever if thats what your talking about.
no message or nothing, it just quits responding and freezes, im trying to re-install now.

I believe 256 MB is the minimum memory requirement for the game, that could be the problem. Try closing out of every other program you can and getting your system to as stressfree a state as possible.

You might need a memory upgrade.

almost done reinstalling. i dont have anything running right now besides this.

Here are the system requirements according to the OOTP 9 website:

I think this is a system compatability problem.

its working now, i guess the reinstall got it. any more problems after this i will post.

As the starting up problem has been fixed, this will be moved to closed. Any problems further on in the game will have to go in their own thread.
