Potential Bug with Latest Patch: Scouting turned OFF

I noticed with the latest patch when I do the New Major League game option, the scouting system is turned OFF by default. Prior to the patch scouting had defaulting to being ON. Not sure which way it is meant to be but probably should warn if changed since some people might not catch it right away.

Its been acknowledged that most of the options are now turned off when they were previously on, you may want to dig through and turn things back on. The most prevelent thing I've see is AI roster changes are now not allowed.

Thanks...I just saw the AI turned off as well. Is there any post that lists all the things that need to be checked? To be honest in the past I stuck with default settings so not sure what I should be looking for. I'm guessing this won't be fixed until the July patch. Yuck.

Hate to complain about such a great game, but this issue is actually pretty bad, especially if I have no idea what the correct settings should be. I also saw the 40-man roster turned off and waivers. I'm not even sure what the correct number of days waivers should be set at. This stinks because I just have no way of knowing what all the right things are to represent the major leagues as well as the other leagues. I really hope there is a quicker fix to this issue than waiting until July. Sorry for the rant, but very disappointed.

There might be one in the general section, I'd look for you but I don't have the time at the moment- try searching in there. I hope they issue some form of patch 1a for this issue myself.

I've run into a similar, but different, problem.

I'm doing the Rule 5 draft, and it's my turn to pick. There's a button saying "Scouting Director Recommendation", but when I click it it's not giving me a recommendation about who to draft, over on the bottom left window, like it's supposed to do.

However, the players do show "star" ratings for OVR and POT, and "Use Complete Scouting System" is turned on in the Game Setup, so I don't know if this bug is the same as the one about Scouting being turned off or a different one.

That wouldn't be related. Please post a new thread.

That being said, I don't believe its a bug as you aren't required to make a pick in the Rule 5 Draft and in many cases its best not to make a pick. If you don't have a spot on your 40 man roster, you shouldn't be able to make a pick as best I understand it.

Thanks. I checked, though, and I only have 38 players on the 40 man squad, so that's not it. Again, the problem is that the scout doesn't make a recommendation. Unless their recommendation is not to draft anybody, but it seems that should be my decision... it would be nice to know what my best choice might be.

I'll post this as a separate bug report.

I didn't find a new file with the issues corrected, but I did find the FAQ on what needs to be set. I'm still really hoping this can be addressed in a quick fix instead of having to wait until the next patch.

For the moment, manually changing your settings is probably the way to go. I'm not sure when the files will be updated, but the next patch is the probable time to expect it.
