Bug Alert?

Playing my 2nd season of my existing 8 team league that I converted over from 8. Getting ready to start the season and have been forced to halt by the following message.

"Washington has too many players on the active roster."

Its one of the AI teams and I went to look at it and sure it enough it had 40 players on the active roster. I reduced the number of players by hand to 25, but on the transaction screen it says 25 out of 40 players on the roster. As you can see. The program is messed up.

Id seriously hate to lose this league. I have had it active through 9 seasons and enjoy seeing what a poor GM I am (1 winning season in 9 years including multiple 140 loss seasons).

Any help would be great IM stuck and not sure what to do from here with it. (I have tried reboot the software etc.)

Also I have not installed the patch...thought Id wait until it had a self installer.

Are you playing with Spring Training turned on?

I always have. Thats the thing I have manage to force the game to reduce the number of active slots to 25 for the washington team. ANd removed all the extra players from the team. But it is still listing it out as having too many players.

THere doesnt appear to be any way to force it past opening day.

Try manually reducing the team's roster to 25 players then turning off the AI's ability to make changes just so you can advance to opening day.

Where would you do that? Or is it one of those things that can only be done during the preseason in which case im screwed

I meant manually going to the teams transaction screen and moving guys from the active roster to the minors. This can only be done in commissioner mode while using "Act As:"

If you got that part, then you can change the AI's ability to make changes by going to game setup-league setup-functions tab-Set all teams to NOT allow AI roster changes.

Tried it. No dice. It still hangs on washington (the last team in my league alphanumerical) claiming they have too many players on the roster.

At this point I think the only thing I can do is revert back two seasons prior to my conversion to 9 and move forward. The only problem I worry about is that if this happens again IM going to be a mighty frustrated camper.

I may just flush the league and start again, but that will be dissappoint as I have invested a lot of time in it.

Try becoming the manager of Washington via commissioner mode Act As when you get the error message there might be an option to have the AI handle it. If that doesn't work switch on online mode for a moment, try to advance again (while not being the Washington manager) and see if the option to let the AI handle it pops up.

tried all that. Set AI to handle everything. Still no joy.

I believe she is done.

Don't give up yet.

On the bottom of your OOTP screen, the third link is a picture of a little guy: the Search Player & Shortlist button. Hit that, then sort by "Team". Does Washington have more than 25 players listed? If so, compare this list to Washington's active roster and in commish mode, demote or release anyone on one list but not the other.
