Scout Recommendations During Rule 5 Draft Not Working

In OOTP 9, I'm trying to conduct the Rule 5 draft. It's my team's turn to pick. When I click the "Scouting Director Recommendation" button at the lower right, it's not showing a recommendation for a draftee over on the lower left screen like it is supposed to.

I have room on the 40 man squad for the pick. The players do have scout ratings (on the 1-5 star scale which I'm using), and scouting is turned ON in the Game Setup.

I don't know if this bug also relates to other drafts, e.g. the rookie draft in June, or only the Rule 5 draft. Anybody else seeing this problem anywhere?

It's because the scout does not see anybody as "worthy" of taking in the rule 5 draft. The Rule 5 is different in that the player you draft in it HAS to be put on your major league roster...most teams do not make a rule 5 draft choice as they feel nobody in the pool is worth a major league roster spot just then. So in all likelihood there is no player your scout thinks is good enough to be on your roster.

OK, thanks. I figured that my scout would recommend the best player, but not that he was smart enough to decide none are worth drafting.

(BTW, I forgot to mention in my first post that I also had space on the 25 man roster in addition to the 40 man roster, so that doesn't explain it.)

I was able to confirm that the Scout recommendations do work for the First Year Player draft, so you're right that this is not a bug... it's a feature!
