BZ 1636: Templates engine error

I keep getting a Templates_Engine::load_template_file - cannot open template file head_bits.tpl error when I change screens..usually when I go from HTML screen/report to another. any idea?

this was an converted OOTP8 league btw if that makes a difference.

Which operating system are you using?

Do you see this behavior in non-converted leagues?

Have you tried disabling FaceGen to see if it makes the error stop?

some more info after playing with / researching it...

1. I'm on Windows XP...sp2
2. Tried with facegen off...same error
3. Noticed there is no head_bits.tpl in OOTP2007, OOTP8, or OOTP9 template folders
4. tried with all 3 skins and got the same error
5. seems to only happen when I first go into the game now. no idea what has changed but I seem to be able to go back and forth between screens without any problems except when I first start the game and select continue game. I'll have to mess with this more and track better when I get the error.

Still getting that head_bits.tpl error, but just uncovered another one.

The SION Home link along the top results in a similar error, just a different tpl file. This time it says cannot open template file bnn_home_page.tpl. If I click okay I get another error refering to bnn_home_leagues_list_row.tpl, and then page_header_bnn.tpl.

click okay one more time and I end up at an empty page...I never get that Home page list all of the leagues.

I also tried just redownloading the ootp9.exe file but I'm still getting these same errors.

one more piece of info...seems related to the League Home screen for the MLB. I reloaded the game, reimported, and by default the game goes to the Manager Home screen. No errors. when I go to the MLB home screen, head_bit error.

Not sure what it was but I recopied all of the tpl files from the orig templates folder into my saved game templates folder and all the errors went away. Seems related to the league import.
either way this is resolved so feel free to close this thread, close the BZ#, and move on to bigger and better bugs.
