3rd Straight Loss Due to AI Pitcher Mgmt

I suffered my 3rd straight loss due to the pitcher being left in by the AI long after he became tired. In the 7th Inning my pitcher had thrown 107 pitches and the bases were loaded. The AI manager never did take him out and he lost the lead, the game, gave up 7 runs, and ended up pitching 145 Pitches.

When you go into the game under the options, who is running Substitutions? You or the AI? If you didn't change it, the default is for you to run everything in a game. So, it's not going to automatically lift the pitcher. It's waiting for you to do it!

The AI was running everything. Thanks for the reply.

Doh! I see that now by the fact that your only option is "1-Continue".

How many pitchers does that team have? I think they're going to want to see your league files for this.

The zipped file for my .DAT files is 5.8 Mb and the limit for zipped files to this site is 100 KB. The zipped world.DAT file is 1.8 Mb. What do you suggest?

This FTP server uses anonymous access, so you should not need to provide a user name or password.

Typically, to troubleshoot a problem with your league, we usually need all of the files in your saved game directory that end with .dat. (coaches.dat, players.dat, etc.). Please zip all of the files up, and name the zip file with your forum user name; for example, battists.zip. Then, post back in the technical support thread that you created to let us know that you posted a file to the server, and be sure to tell us the name of the zip file that you posted.
hope that helps

Only thing I noticed: your screenshot post of the strategy settings is for 'Tied Ballgame', but the game was not tied. May want to confirm that the other situations are similar.

Only time I've seen this in previous versions is when the whole rest of the bullpen is equally as gassed. Agree that it seems fishy.

I acknowledge that some of the settings were at "default" but that has been corrected now. The remaining issue is that the default strategy settings need to be looked at. IMO pitchers are being left in way too long. Thanks for your input!

That's a tough one to log. Can you please try to provide some more examples?

As requested. I had a 4-run lead in the 8th inning, but the Computer Manager made the pitcher stay in for the entire inning for no good reason (124 pitches).

Pic-1 shows the broadcast view.
Pic-2 show the strategy settings for the situation in question (8th inning, 4-run lead). I also had plenty of good (and rested) MRs to come in. You can see that I had the "quick hook" nearly set to maximum! The pitcher ended up giving up a run that was, in my mind, entirely preventable.

As mentioned before, the "High" setting for all the options is on the right except for the "Hook" options (which are on the left). Could this be a coding error? Am I actually telling the AI to never take the pitcher out?

Here's another example, although not as extreme as the one above.

It was the bottom of the 5th and I was behind 5 to 1. My relief pitcher (Pollen) had already pitched 2 innings in relief. The AI manager allowed the pitcher to bat for himself - and reduce the chances for a rally. The "Pinch-Hit for Pitchers" option was towards the right ("Frequently") but not all the way over.
