turning off the quotes

Is there a setting anywhere in this game to turn off the quotations? I was scrolling through the player profiles and about every fifth player a quote would pop up which I then would have to close to continue looking at profiles. To me, the way I play the game, the quotes have become more of an annoyance.

What quotes are you talking about? Are these the hints that pop up in the box in the middle.

I think that was a change in 9 that they can pop up at any point there is a delay in something being done.

There is a file called hints.txt in My Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 9\misc and if you delete all the lines in there and save it there won't be any quotes to pop up.

I don't think you can disable it any other way.

I had a feeling that would be the answer. I actually renamed the file and the game doesn't seem to care the file is missing. I scrolled through the player profiles without any problems or "hints" displaying, not even a blank message box. Thanks for the help, you can consider this closed unless a preference setting should be added somewhere to shut off the hints.
