Trouble loading leagues (online & solo)

I did do the most recent patch last week, but haven't played the game since then.

This morning, I tried to upload my online league. I unzipped the file and created a new league in the saved games file. The league didn't show up.

So, I attempted to load my "solo" trial league and received the following errors.

1. database::load_database_could not load world file
2. The laoding of the database failed. It is either corrupt or a save-game from an older version.

Any solutions? My leauge has an update due tomorrow morning!! YIKES!

I solved my problem by uninstalling then reinstalling the software. BTW, it was the PC version, but I don't know what went wrong!

Yeah, no kidding, I can't get this thing to work at all. I did get my league updated, but who knows what the future will bring. I can't load my online league anymore and keep reinstalling... stinks!

When you say that you can't load your online league anymore, what do you mean exactly? You can't get OOTP 9 to open the saved game file, or you can't upload or download files?

I'm having the same problem. A friend, who is using a Mac, is zipping up the league file and uploading it to a server. I download the file, unzip it, and attempt to open it on my PC. The game opens fine, but when I try to open the league, I get the error messages above.

He, however, has been able to open zipped league files I have sent him and get them to work.

We're going to try the game's automatic upload/download function, but is there any solution for the zipped league file in the meantime?

It sounds as if your zipping or unzipping programs are causing some sort of error, or your directories aren't set up right. Make sure that your .lg folder is in your saved_games folder and that it has a bunch of .dat files in it.

For some reason, the league file was nested within itself and the majority of the .dat files were only in the subfolder, not the primary folder.
