Can't seem to advance to the next season

I started a four-team league in 1878 (real players, fictional teams). I simmed the first season, setting my first-year draft to be in November)...

I had hoped to expand my league after the season but before the draft, but that option was grayed out. So I ran the draft in November with my four teams. I still wasn't able to add teams to my league. So I simmed until Jan. 1, 1879, and I still can't expand the league, create a schedule, etc. I've gone as far as to sim to Feb. 1, 1879 and it still seems stuck in the previous season.

What to do? I am fully patched up. I believe I did create this league before this final patch came out ...

I should note that I had playoffs disabled and the game didn't seem to hand out any of the player awards either ... not sure what to do... I hope I don't have to restart this league -- I've worked pretty hard on it and on developing a dynasty story based on how this first season went...

WHEW! Solved my own problem ... I put together my own schedule for this and somehow I had inserted one set of games a year ahead. So it was waiting for those games to be played before it advanced to the off-season. I deleted those games and everything seems to have fallen into place now...
