BZ 1857: Rule 5 Draft - AI Not Following Rules

I poked around a little, but couldn't find any topic that touched on this. I am running 9.1.6.

Currently simming a MLB season, and am now in 2015. In this past December's Rule 5 Draft, I lost 4 of my minor leaguers to the Indians, which I thought was a crazy amount for one team to take from one other team. So, we're now approaching the All-Star break, and I noticed one of the guys I lost was doing fairly well, so I decided to take a little closer look at the Indians.

I notice that two of the four selected are still on the Indians active roster. I note that another two are no longer on their active roster, and have been sent down to their AAA affiliate.

The following blurb is straight from the online manual:

A player selected in the Rule 5 draft must remain on the selecting team's active roster or disabled list for the entire season.

I'm assuming that if player controlled teams are to abide by this rule (although I never take anyone in that draft, so I've never tried it) that CPU teams should be as well. Is this a bug? Am I misinterpreting the rule somehow?

ARGH. Need help now.

I decided if the Rule 5 draft was bugged, I didn't want to use it, so I tried to go into League Rules and turn it off, but was unable to uncheck the checkbox for it... not really sure why.

So, I tried to work around this, I went into the league functions and turned off AI Roster moves... but this didn't stop teams from drafting.

Next, I went and set all AI teams to my control, which did have the desired effect of stopping anyone from taking part in the Rule 5 Draft.

After the draft, I went and ran the "Set all teams back to being computer controlled". I suppose I should have given this more thought, but I thought it would respect my previous management responsibilities. I was wrong.

So, now I have no team, I did not set myself up as Commish, so I can't just cheat and readd myself. My reputation has dropped down to "Bad GM" from "Living Legend"

What do I do now? Is there a way to force myself back into my old team, or did I just screw my league trying to work around this bug?

Okay, you can only disable the draft during particular times of year.

Just go to your manager profile and check the button that turns on commish mode. I mean, unless you put in a password and hid it from yourself, there's no reason why you can't enable Commish Mode, then check job openings and immediately jump back into your old team.
