9.1.2 and 9.1.6

Just curious, one online league I am in uses 9.1.2 another is using 9.1.6

If I upgrade to 9.1.6 will I be able to open the 9.1.2 files?

You might be able to open it up, but I'd say there's a decent chance something will go wrong with your team. That is, say FA or contract extensions are handled slightly differently in 9.1.6, you could lose out on an important player if you don't offer the correct amount.

Online leagues are, of course, free to make their own decisions on this, but I would strongly recommend that all of them update to the latest stable (i.e. non-beta) release. There's usually good reason for patches.

You could install two different versions of OOTP9 (install into different directories and rename your shortcuts appropriately), but what online league member really wants to go through that hassle? The game is a fairly large install, why duplicate it all if you really shouldn't have to.

I'm fairly certain that you won't be able to open up 9.1.6 files while using 9.1.2. Not sure about the other way around.

Kq76 is right in that your best option would be to try to convince your on-line league to convert to 9.1.6. Another potential solution is to keep two copies of the ootp9.exe file and swap them out as needed to match the league you are trying to open. I'm not sure that that will work, however.

Can we help you with anything else?
