Pitcher Injured & Not Credited with Win

Hi,
I had a pitcher injured on the last play of an inning. Of course, the game made me replace him in the lineup immediately. He was due up second in the inning, so I tried to put a pinch hitter in his lineup spot, but the game wouldn't let me, so I had to put the pinch hitter in as a pitcher. The game was tied and we took the lead in that half inning and ended up winning the game. So, in a real game the pitcher would get the "Win", but my pinch hitter got the "win" instead

I'm aware that the game demands that you replace an injured player immediately, even in situations where you wouldn't have to in a real life game. I assume that this problem is kind of hard wired in at this point (wouldn't be an easy fix?), but is there an easy fix for the above situation?

I'm on an ibook G4 running OS 10.4.11

thanks,
Frank

Yes, you are right about everything you said. We brought up the issue of having to replace the player when he is injured right away in situations like that, but it was too hard to repair or unable to be repaired.

Luckily it does not happen too often and the CTD with injured pitcher was fixed, so that is better.

Here is a tip on using a double switch. Before you start the double switch, change the two players involved (pitcher and fielder to a - for their position), then drag the new pitcher to the hitters spot and the new fielder to the pitchers spot. This will make the box score look correct.

Just don't do what I do and forget the pitcher is no longer batting 9th and have him bat with 2 outs in the ninth!!

Is there anything else that we can help you with?

Sorry, I don't know what CTD is, but I think you're saying that you fixed the problem of not allowing a player to be placed in the injured pitcher's place in the lineup (instead of replaced as a pitcher).

Yes, can you watch over my shoulder to make sure I also remember that my pitcher is no longer batting 9th after a double switch, or accidentally replace my best player, or forget to pinch hit in the bottom of the ninth, or....

thanks,
Frank

A CTD is a crash to desktop.

I'll close this thread out, but if you have any further trouble that you need help with, please don't hesitate to post in Tech Support.
