Problems FA Contracts for next year

I have looked in the forums for something of this nature but have not found it. I am using windows version 9.1.6

I noticed that when I offer a contract to a FA immediately after the playoffs it displays that the contract will be for the next season. However my owner limits my budget to what is still available this year. This is a minor bug, but irritating as I am in an online league top Free Agents are being signed to teams that still have cap room available for the current year even though the player will not go on the books until next year.

Until FAs file, any contract offered is for the previous/current season. Once they file, contracts should begin with the upcoming season.

Top free agents shouldn't be available unless someone cut them.

Can I assist you further with this matter?

This is not the case in the league I am running across. For example:

- The current 1973 season just finished.
- There are some FA's on the market from a lower level league.
- When offering a contract to a FA it says that the contract is for the 1974 year not 1973.

So with that said why am I limited to my 1973 budget when offering a player a contract for the 1974 year? It sounds as if the contract should be for the year 1973 and not 1974, but this is not the case.

Hrm. Multiple leagues, then. Free agents from your own league haven't filed yet, though? How many days until they do?

It was around a month before the players from the main league filed.

This is a limitation with how your leagues are set up, then. Contracts signed before free agents file have to be for the current/previous season, not the upcoming one. Things would run much more smoothly if you altered the start date of the other league so that it would end around when your league ends. Alternatively, you could drop players ahead of time who plan to file for free agency in the coming season in order to free up cap space in the current season.

Can we help you with anything further?
