Database loading error

I had attempted to manually save the game before shutting it down and I received an error message stating that there was an error in saving the players faces. Since then every time I try to load my homemade League I get the following message without the league loading.

What can I do to get my league running again?

It used to be the case that you could just replace the faces.dat file with one from a new game, but I'm not sure that works as well now because the file headers in OOTP9 store the game date in them.

What if you temporarily move the faces.dat file out of the .lg folder?

Just move it to your desktop, or somewhere that you can remember, in case you need to retrieve it later (which you almost certainly won't ever need to do). Remove it from the game and store it somewhere else.
