Team Scout Issue

I created a fictional league, played through a year. My scouts contract was up at the end of the year, so I hired a new scout. This scout gave me information and reports for the first 2 weeks of the season. All of a sudden the reports stopped and the scouting numbers disappeared from players. I looked at my staff and the scout was still on my staff. I clicked into his profile, but it says he works for a High School team. I can not fire him like my other staff, but I can not hire someone else since the game thinks I already have a scout.

Any ideas?

Which version of OOTP 9 are you using, please? With which version was your saved game created?
